Nearly 200 attended CCWA’s annual Administrative Professionals’ Conference on Friday, April 24, at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. The one-day retreat offers professional and personal development activities as well as new ideas for administrative professionals to take back to the workplace. This year’s theme, “Take Flight,” presented topics on navigating workplace conflict, increasing confidence, and creativity at work, to name a few.
“Organizations that invest in their administrative professionals show their commitment to staff development and the business’ bottom line,” said Mac McGinty, CCWA’s Vice President for Workforce Development. “This annual conference and our on-going training courses have positively impacted productivity, performance and morale of those in that role throughout the region and thus the success of their organizations.”
For over more than 30 years, the Administrative Professionals’ Conference has helped Greater Richmond’s administrative professionals develop the tools they need to step up to a higher level of proficiency. The event also provides the opportunity for administrative professionals to network with others who share similar responsibilities and challenges.
The administrative professionals in attendance at this year’s conference represent more than 50 organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, public agencies, educational institutions, banking services, healthcare and other private sector businesses. The U. S. Department of Labor statistics predicts 12% growth in this occupation from 2012 to 2022.
