The City of Richmond and Reynolds Community College recently announced a new partnership to expand educational opportunities for city employees. The partnership leverages the programs and pathways of Reynolds as the most trusted partner for credit and workforce education.
“We are creating pathways and opportunities for success for our city workforce,” noted Levar Stoney, Mayor of Richmond. “We believe in investing in our employees, investing in their futures, and in the city’s future while building a pipeline of talent that creates organizational resiliency.”
“Our greatest superpower is our localness,” said Dr. Paula Pando, President of Reynolds. “We care deeply about the communities we serve. We program around our community’s needs. We program around employer needs.”
The partnership will initially focus on upskilling and reskilling in automotive, welding, accounting, paralegal, and skilled trades (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical), in addition to short-term credential programs such as commercial driver’s license (CDL), project management prep (PMP), and a national retail certification in customer service & sales.
CCWA is pleased to join Reynolds Community College in delivering employee training opportunities. Information sessions are being held for city employees to learn more about available programs.
