In September 2021, Governor Ralph Northam introduced the "Get Skilled, Get a Job, Give Back", or G3 initiative, offering tuition-free community college to qualified Virginians who want to prepare for high-demand careers.
FastForward workforce development courses at CCWA are one program option covered by G3 funds, which provide “last dollar” scholarships for full tuition, fees and books. Eligible FastForward courses include: a number of occupational training options in manufacturing, healthcare, trades and information technology, each of which can be completed in 4 to 16 weeks.
In addition to receiving free tuition, fees and supplies, job seekers whose employment was impacted by COVID followed by personal economic hardship may also be eligible for a $1,000 Virginia Ready cash stipend.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A), Customer Service and Teacher Education certification courses also may qualify for other income-based funding.
