Ride United Program

The ability to get from Point A to Point B, while critical, is usually an afterthought. However, for many people in our area, transportation is a major challenge. If you cannot drive yourself and are unable to secure a ride, transportation can be an insurmountable barrier to reach your job, your school and more.

To help our students overcome this challenge, CCWA has partnered with United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg to offer a program called Ride United. Students who qualify for the Road to Success in Virginia Program (RSVP) can receive on-demand Lyft rides when they have no other transportation options available.

“At United Way, we believe that every individual in our region — particularly those who face longstanding disadvantages — deserves to be supported along the path to success,” says Barbara Couto Sipe, President and CEO of United Way.

We can assist with transportation for employment-related activities. We will issue codes for Lyft Transportation so that you are able to attend your employment-related activities, such as job search/interviews, training, employment and meeting with community organizations that can help connect you to transportation, coaching and more.

Coaching and Career Services can help you learn more about programs like RSVP and determine if you qualify — simply complete this form to be contacted.
