Patrick Cooke was a 2024 Pathways to Electrical Apprenticeship student who completed the program this spring. He is currently working for A&E Electric and will be working towards his apprenticeship this fall with the company. Patrick previously worked for Anderson Electric where he was able to learn and build the skillset needed to meet the employment requirements of his current position. After completing his certification course, Cooke moved on to A&E Electric  where he is working full-time and will be eligible for benefits once starting his apprenticeship.

Patrick chose this field because he wanted to make his family proud by obtaining his electrician certification and working towards a better future for himself. He also saw that being an electrician is something he can financially and skillfully benefit from now and in the future.

Patrick says his favorite part of the program is his teacher and the times that he spends in class. A piece of advice from Cooke to current and future students — steady the course and make sure that you pay attention to what is being taught, he believes that students should be patient with themselves, and the process, and they will do just fine.
