New-Medication-Aide-Program

Over the summer, CCWA launched the first class of the new Medication Aide program, offered in partnership with Fresh Start! Approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, this 68-hour hybrid training program prepares participants to administer medications and assist patients with self-administering medication, such as blood sugar checks and insulin injections, specifically in assisted living environments. The program combines the flexibility of online learning with essential hands-on training, providing a streamlined path to a rewarding career.

The healthcare support sector is experiencing unprecedented growth. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this occupational group is projected to see the fastest employment growth (15.2%) and add the most jobs of any industry of the projected decade through 2033. This creates a wealth of opportunities for certified medication aides, and our graduates complete the program with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in this rapidly expanding field.
