Class Description
The Certified Electrocardiography Technician (CET) Class is designed to prepare students to function as professionals in multiple cardiac healthcare settings. CETs perform various clinical tasks including setting up and performing an electrocardiogram (EKG) and stress tests, preparing patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring, editing and delivering final test results to the physician for analysis, scheduling appointments, and transcribing physician’s interpretations. Job opportunities are prevalent with physician’s offices, clinics, hospitals and outpatient facilities. Clinical Medical Assistants should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED. Participants who complete this comprehensive course would be prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Electrocardiography Technician (CET) national certification examination.
This hybrid course is designed to prepare students for a career as a Certified EKG Technician (CET). Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CET Certification Exam.

Course Structure & Schedule
This is a hybrid program, combining online instruction and in-person lab sessions.Students will receive a detailed course calendar on the first day of class. Classes are held twice a week, Fridays on Zoom and Saturdays in-person
Schedule:
- Fridays (Zoom):
Daytime Class: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Evening Class: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Saturdays (In-Person):
Day and evening classes come together: 10 a.m-4:00 p.m.
In-Person Lab Locations:
- Chester Campus-Brightpoint Community College
- Downtown Campus-Reynolds Community College

Getting Started
To get started, please create a student profile and register for one of our Healthcare Orientation Sessions. This is the first step toward enrolling in our healthcare classes. During orientation, you will learn about available programs, begin the registration process, and apply for grant funding that can cover up to 100% of your tuition.
Note: You only need to complete one orientation. Please choose either the employee-led session or the self-paced session—not both.

Step 2: Register for Employee-Led Orientation
An employee-led orientation session is a live meeting—held in person or via Zoom—led by a CCWA staff member. During the session, you’ll get an overview of your program, next steps, and have a chance to ask questions in real time.

Step 3: Register for Self-Paced Orientation Sessions
- Log in to your new student profile
- Use the search bar in the top right corner to find CCWA Healthcare New Student Orientation
- Click “Register” to enroll
Step 4: Login Information for Self-Paced Orientation via Canvas
After you create your student profile and register for orientation, you will need to complete the orientation course in Canvas.
Log in to the class here.
If you do not know your USERNAME, please click on "Forgot Username" and follow the prompts. You will need to create a password for your account. Once you have set your password, write this down as you will use this login information repeatedly to access the course materials and assignments.
