This spring, CCWA’s healthcare team held the first electrocardiogram (EKG) training course at the Petersburg Resource Center. The initiative was a success, with nine dedicated students successfully completing the program.
The Certified Electrocardiography Technician course prepares students to work professionally in various cardiac healthcare settings, including administering EKG tests.
Upon completion, all nine graduates received interview opportunities with VCU Health’s Cardiac Monitor Tech-Telemetry Unit for open positions.
CCWA recognizes that career readiness involves more than just technical skills, and as part of this course students received resume writing support from our career coaching team, attended a personal budgeting session provided by Virginia Credit Union and were awarded a stipend upon successful completion of the program. This holistic approach underscores CCWA's commitment to empowering individuals for lasting success in the workforce.
